Рецензия на сингл «Дорога в облака» группы Rock Privet: сумрачный кавер «Браво»

In 2026, MMG released new material from the group Rock Privet. A review by critic Alexei Mazhaev of InterMedia gives the work a rating of 5 out of 10. The band’s signature move has always been their knack for blending the unblendable—mixing styles like “Splin” with Nickelback, or re-recording a hit by Irina Allegrova in the vein of Europe. Through these experiments, they’ve often achieved a high level of skill. Notably, Rock Privet doesn’t aim to entertain with parody; their focus is on music, not humor. Recreating such disparate genres requires taste and mastery. This time, however, the critic argues that the group lacked the necessary taste.
The song “Path to the Clouds” is one of “Bravo’s” most beloved tracks. Its music video is bright and uplifting, and the song itself sounds like a soundtrack to something sunny and joyful. Listening to it or performing it should evoke positive emotions; it’s energetic and danceable, even though it was written in a minor key. Despite its popularity, the song has few cover versions. Perhaps potential reinterpreters hesitated to try and replicate Bravo’s signature optimism. Without that optimism, the song seems to lose its essence, as the review suggests.
Rock Privet decided to remake “Path to the Clouds” in the style of the American post-grunge band Shinedown. As a result, only the lyrics and part of the music from Bravo’s original remain. The arrangement and performance were borrowed from the darker, more somber American band. Lead singer Nail Shariyazdanov sings with a deliberately raspy and somewhat detached tone. The critic questions whether it would have been better to emulate Valery Syutkin’s charm instead of Shinedown’s gloomy sound. While Rock Privet tackled their creative challenge, it seems the challenge itself was misguided. From a listener’s perspective, post-grunge doesn’t suit this song. The experimental cover, which exposes the emotional dryness of the reinterpreters, only ends up ruining the track, according to the review.
